Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on young woman’s murder was completed in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. Charge was pressed against 38 year-old man.

It was earlier informed that on August 30, 2018 a young woman’s body with numerous cut-pierced injuries was found in one of the houses of Araratyan Street, Yerevan.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code.

In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions conducted within the criminal case a number of circumstances, the motive were found out.

Pursuant to data obtained during pretrial proceeding the young woman had sustained more than seven dozens of cut-pierced injuries during the argument with 38 year-old man on private matter – visiting the child.

Through preliminary investigation of the criminal case data were obtained on the allegation that the man, born in 1980, did not carry out the requirements of the performance writ given by the court of first instance of Kotayk province; that is to prohibit to prevent the child's mother to visit the child; the court had allowed the woman to communicate with her daughter, take part in her care and upbringing, however the man prevented mother’s visits to child three times  a month as defined by the court.

On June 29, 2018 a criminal case was initiated in Police Division of Kotayk according to the Article 167.1 of RA Criminal Code which was sent to Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee for conduction of preliminary investigation.

On September 1, 2018 a decision was made to join the mentioned criminal cases and conduct preliminary investigation in one proceeding.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against the man, born in 1980, according to the Point 5 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.
