On September 24, 2021 at 02:44 a call was received from a medical center informing that two persons with firearm injuries were taken to the medical center from Abovyan Street, Yerevan.

In the result of urgent measures those who had been taken to the medical center were identified; they are 23 and 24 year-old residents of Tavush region.

Pursuant to initial data, on September 24, 2021 at about 02:30 at the area next to a café located in Abovyan Street the person having committed the alleged crime, for the purpose of illegal deprivation of life, fired shots towards the young men from the firearm kept by him illegally. However, under unforeseen circumstances he could not complete the crime.

A criminal case was initiated in the Third Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104 of RA Criminal Code.

Inspection of the scene was conducted during which 3 capsules and 3 balls, blood-like traces, a plastic bag with clothes were found, samples were taken, the clothes the injured persons were wearing at the moment of the incident were confiscated, a number of witnesses were questioned, forensic medical, forensic biological, forensic ballistic, forensic trace examinations were commissioned to find out circumstances significant for the criminal case.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Measures are taken to identify the person having committed the alleged crime, to find and bring him to the investigative body, to provide the objective and comprehensive investigation of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
