In the result of investigative and procedural actions conducted within the criminal proceeding initiated in the Second Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 44-155 and the Part 1 of the Article 335 of RA Criminal Code circumstances of murder attempt committed against 27 year-old resident of Yerevan in the yard of one of the buildings in Tumanyan Street, Yerevan on January 17, 2023 were found out.

It was earlier informed that on the mentioned day the person having committed the alleged crime fired shoots towards 27 year-old man in the result of which the latter received firearm injuries on the abdomen and was taken to hospital.

The investigative-operative group, which had immediately left for the scene, found a car of “Toyota” make with firearm injuries, fired balls and capsules, confiscated the videos captured by the cameras available at the scene.

Within the framework of the criminal proceeding a number of persons were questioned, forensic ballistic and forensic medical expertises were commissioned.

Through investigation it was found out that in the period preceding the incident an argument and brawl on personal matters had taken place between the victim and the person having committed the alleged crime – 29 year-old resident of Yerevan. On January 17, 2023 at about 19:19, out of revenge, the latter together with two other persons ambushed at the place of residence of 27 year-old man and noticing him fired shots towards him causing bodily injuries and fled. 

During preliminary investigation necessary investigative actions, among them searches were conducted. As a result, 29 year-old man was found and arrested.

Based on the motion of the investigative body sufficed by the supervising prosecutor charge was pressed against 27 year-old man according to the Part 1 of the Article 44-155 and the Part 1 of the Article 335 of RA Criminal Code. A motion was submitted to court to use detention as a pretrial measure against him. It was sufficed.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to find the firearm which is the instrument of crime, as well as to find others possibly related to the incident and to bring them to the investigative body.

The relevant employees of the Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs were assigned to take operative-intelligence measures.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
