One more person arrested on suspicion of participating in criminal association
In the result of necessary investigatory and operative-searching measures taken in the framework of the criminal case investigated in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee on murder of the resident of Alaverdi town K. Piruzyan on January 18 one more person was arrested on suspicion of participating in criminal association. An explosive was also found in the shop belonging to the latter.
Kamo Piruzyan’s murder was committed on June 13, 2017 in Alaverdi town. As it was informed, on the afternoon of June 13 in one of the busiest parts of Alaverdi town – near the shop located at Tumanyan 20, shots were fired from gun of “Makarov” model towards K. Piruzyan, born in 1978. As a result, the latter died of bodily injuries he had sustained. The person having committed the alleged crime was arrested on the same day.
In the result of investigatory and operative-searching measures of great volume taken in the framework of the criminal case investigated in the RA IC General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases it was found that the murder had been ordered, factual data were obtained on the identity of the organizer, as well as on creating a criminal association by the latter.
In the result of joint actions conducted by the investigative body and operative-intelligence subdivisions one more person involved in criminal association was identified; he is a resident of Alaverdi, born in 1974. Through search conducted in the shop belonging to the latter an explosive was found. On January 18 he was arrested on suspicion of participating in criminal association and illegal procurement and keeping of explosives and was questioned.
Thus, in the framework of the criminal case one person was detained for killing K. Piruzyan, 4 more persons were arrested on suspicion of committing several alleged crimes envisaged by RA Criminal Code.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to find other people possibly involved in criminal association, to give appropriate criminal-legal assessment to their actions.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
