One of the persons under persecution for murder in “Musa Ler” turned himself; charge pressed against him
A. Paravyan who had been under persecution in the framework of the criminal case investigated in Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee initiated on murder committed on January 6 in “Musa Ler” restaurant-hotel complex turned himself and charge was pressed against him.
On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against A. Paravyan according to the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code for hooliganism committed with an item used as a weapon on January 6, 2016 in the mentioned complex. Decision on involving the latter as a defendant was made by the investigator on January 9 and on the same day a motion was submitted to the court to use detention as a pretrial measure against him, search was declared.
A. Paravyan, who had been under persecution, turned himself to law enforcement bodies on January 11 and was detained. The accused was interrogated and necessary investigatory actions are conducted in his presence. The motion on reaffirming detention as a pretrial measure against A. Paravyan will be discussed in a term defined by RA Criminal Procedure Code.
It was earlier informed that 22 year-old A. Karapetyan was killed in the armed incident committed on January 6 in “Musa Ler” restaurant-hotel complex, the head of the village of Taronik sustained a firearm injury.
In the framework of the criminal case 2 persons are currently under persecution. A. Babayan was involved as a defendant according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code (hooliganism committed by a group of persons), the Point 10 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 (murder out of hooliganism), Points 1 and 10 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104 of RA Criminal Code (murder attempt against two or more persons out of hooliganism) and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code (illegal procurement, keeping, carrying of a firearm), Kh. Khachikyan – according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code (hooliganism committed by a group of persons).
Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to find the persons under persecution, to identify the other participants of the incident, to personalize the actions of each of them.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
