In the result of investigative and other procedural actions conducted, as well as urgent measures taken jointly with the employees of the relevant subdivision of the RA Police within the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee murder attempt committed against the driver of the bus was disclosed. 
 

The call on the mentioned accident was received on June 9, 2022 at 08:39 from “Saint Gregory the Illuminator” medical center informing that 64 year-old man with cut-pierced wounds was taken to the medical center from Artem Mikoyan Street.
 

In the result of urgent measures taken during preparation of materials a number of circumstances of causing the mentioned injuries to the man, the motive were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is 55 year-old resident of Yerevan.
 

Pursuant to initial data, on the morning of June 9, 2022 a row on smoking in the transport means erupted between 64 year-old bus driver and 55 year-old passenger of the same bus after which, pursuant to initial data, the driver hit the passenger with an iron item on the head. Then the passenger stabbed the driver on the regions of the heart and lungs, however he could not complete the crime due to intervention of the passersby and the first medical assistance.
 

A criminal case was initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 34-104 of RA Criminal Code and the conduction of the preliminary investigation of the case was assigned to the investigative group. The driver was found the injured party.
 

Through investigation data were obtained about the man having committed the alleged crime, he was apprehended, arrested on suspicion of committing murder attempt and was questioned giving self-incriminating testimony.
 

During preliminary investigation investigative and other procedural actions were conducted – inspection of the scene during which a cigarette was found in the bus and taken, the knife which was the instrument of the crime was confiscated, the videos captured by the cameras available at the scene were inspected, witnesses were questioned, forensic medical examinations were commissioned.
 

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation, to verify the circumstances mentioned in the testimonies.
 

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
