On 12 December, 2020 at 10:04 a call was received from a medical center in Nor Nork Police Division informing that the resident of Yerevan, born in 1935, was taken to them and “closed combined craniocerebral-spinal-spinal cord injury” was diagnosed.

On the same day a young man, born in 1993, turned himself to law enforcement body and told that he was the grandson of the old woman who had been taken to hospital and he had hit her with hands and feet on her face, head as well as different parts of her body.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 34-104 (murder attempt) of RA Criminal Code preliminary investigation of which was tasked to the investigative group. The old woman was found the injured party.

During preliminary investigation urgent investigatory and other procedural actions were conducted – inspection of the scene with participation of the suspect was conducted during which the latter told about the circumstances of the case, the clothes the suspect and the injured were wearing at the moment of the incident were confiscated.

Forensic medical and forensic biological examinations were commissioned to find out circumstances significant for the criminal case.

The young man was arrested on suspicion of committing murder attempt and was questioned.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case.
