On 7 December, 2020 at about 16:57 a call was received in Nor Nork Division of the RA Police informing that shots were fired nearby the Military University after Vazgen Sargsyan. On the same day at 17:17 a call was received from medical center as well informing that the resident of Yerevan, born in 1990, with diagnosis of “firearm injury on the thigh” was taken to them.

In the result of operative-intelligence measures it was found out that the latter had sustained bodily injuries during the incident that took place near the Military University after Vazgen Sargsyan.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Point 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104 (murder attempt) and the Part 1 of the Article 235 (illegal procurement, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices) of RA Criminal Code.

During preliminary investigation urgent investigatory and other procedural actions were conducted, including inspection of the scene during which traces like firearm injuries were found on the wall of military university, as well as 25 capsules of 5.45 mm, 3 bullets of 5.45 mm, a bullet of 5.45 mm, an unfired bullet of 5.45 mm, a wooden blackjack with blood-like traces and a black sport cap, blood-like traces were found, samples were taken, numerous witnesses were questioned.

In the result of urgent measures a rifle of «АК 74» model with a cartridge belt charged with 3 bullets was found.

Forensic ballistic, forensic biological, forensic medical, forensic material, forensic genetic and forensic trace examinations were commissioned to find out circumstances significant for the criminal case.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Measures are taken to find out the whole frame of those involved in the incident, to find and bring them to the investigative body, to personalize the actions of each of them.
