People Having Hindered Professional Activity of Journalist of “Lragir.am” Identified
In the result of necessary investigatory and other procedural actions conducted in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of hindrance to professional activity of journalist of “Lragir.am” informative platform T. Yenokyan were found out, the people having committed the alleged crime were identified.
On May 4, 2018 the criminal case initiated in the police on hindrance to professional activity of the journalist of “Lragir.am” informative platform T. Yenokyan committed on April 20, 2018 near the junction of Armenakyan-Myasnikyan Streets of Yerevan was received in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.
T. Yenokyan was found the injured party and questioned. Pursuant to the latter’s testimony on April 20, 2018 at about 13:00 on the road to Nork-Marash a group of people blocked the street, another group used violence against the demonstrators. Seeing her two people – male and female used violence against her – they hit her camera, pulled her hair prohibiting her to film thus hindering the legal professional activity of journalist.
Investigatory and operative-searching measures of great volume were conducted to find all circumstances of the case, the video of the incident was inspected.
As a result, the people having committed the alleged crime were identified; they are residents of Yerevan. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against the suspects.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
