Necessary investigatory actions are conducted in the framework of the criminal case investigated in Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find all circumstances of taking the child hostage in the kindergarten.

It was earlier informed that on October 30, 2017 at about 16:00 the resident of Armavir entered the kindergarten «Manushak» located in Baghramyan Street and took hostage a kindergarten kid – a boy child, born on 29.01.2015. The man held the child threatening with a knife and to release the child he demanded to organize a meeting with his former wife.

In the result of measures taken the hostage taker was neutralized, and the child was safely released. While being neutralized the man hurt himself with a knife and was immediately taken to medical center and underwent an operation.

Through investigation actual data were obtained on the allegation that before taking the child hostage the man with a knife had inflicted bodily damages to his former wife who worked in the same kindergarten as a governess and the latter’s grandmother who was the kindergarten director. Three persons were found an injured party.

Inspection of the site was conducted, the knife, which was the crime tool, was found. Forensic medical, forensic trace, forensic genetic, forensic chemical examinations were commissioned.

The suspect was arrested.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing, measures are taken to find all circumstances of the case, as well as to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation.
