A criminal case was initiated in Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on taking hostage a child in the kindergarten.

On October 30, 2017 at about 16:00 the person having committed the alleged crime entered the kindergarten «Manushak» located in Baghramyan Street, Armavir and took hostage a kindergarten kid – a boy child, born on 29.01.2015. The man held the child threatening with a knife and to release the child he demanded to organize a meeting with his former wife. The latter works in the same kindergarten.  

In the result of measures taken by the law enforcement bodies the person having committed the alleged crime was neutralized and the child was safely released. The child does not have any damages.

A criminal case was initiated on taking hostage an obvious minor child by using weapon according to the Points 3 and 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 218 of RA Criminal Code. The criminal case was received in a proceeding by an investigator of particularly important cases.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
