Preliminary Investigation of Criminal Case Initiated on False Crime Reporting Committed by Garnik Isaghulyan Completed
In the result of large-scale investigative and other procedural actions conducted in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of false crime reporting committed by the Chairman of the party “National Security” G. Isaghulyan against the RA Prime Minister and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Ukraine were found out.
Pursuant to factual data obtained through investigation, during a press conference at the press club G. Isaghulyan, realizing that the information he was providing was false, reported about a crime not committed which was accompanied with accusing the RA Prime Minister and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Ukraine of particularly grave crime, particularly of activities to the detriment of the sovereignty, territorial immunity and external security of the Republic of Armenia, assisting a foreign state in carrying out hostile activities.
On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against the Chairman of the party “National Security” G. Isaghulyan according to the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 333 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was used as a pretrial measure against him.
Preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with a motion to confirm the bill of indictment and send it to court was sent to the prosecutor.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
