Large-scale investigative and procedural actions were conducted within the criminal proceeding initiated in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out the circumstances of 3 persons’ murder and causing bodily injury to 5 persons with a firearm committed in Vanadzor on October 4, 2019.

Through factual data obtained in the course of investigation it was grounded that on the mentioned day at about 23:00 50 year-old resident of Vanadzor hosted two fellow citizens in the basement of his house. During the conversation one of them requested money from 50 year-old man provided that he would not return it. The man did not refuse and promised to give the money the next day. At the same time, the other of the hosted men placed a lit cigarette on the back of 50 year-old man’s neck then they started hitting 50 year-old man on different parts of his body causing bodily injuries not containing features of light damage. During that time one of the mentioned two men fired a shot from a gas pistol of 9mm caliber of «Bruni» model, after which 50 year-old man, taking a combat pistol of 9mm caliber of «Makarov» model, exceeding the necessary protection, with the intent to kill the mentioned two men, fired numerous shots towards them. As a result of the shots the mentioned two men died.

Hearing the shots, 50 year-old man’s 43 year-old nephew entered with a group of persons and voluntarily became involved in the dispute. Receiving a light damage with a cutting item on his face and abdomen, the latter, exceeding the necessary protection, with the intent to kill 6 persons who were there, fired numerous shots towards them from a combat gun of «AK-74» model procured from a person not identified yet.

As a result of the shots fired by 50 year-old man’s nephew one of those, who were in the basement of the house, died, 5 persons received heavy bodily injuries.

Through the search conducted in the mentioned house in the course of preliminary investigation narcotic drugs - 142,84 grams of «Marijuana», «Tetrahydrocannabinol» in significant amount - 0,00937 grams and «Cannabis» in significant amount - 689,97 grams were found.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 50 year-old man and the latter’s nephew according to the Article 159 of RA Criminal Code (exceeding the necessary protection). Detention was used as a pretrial measure against them which was later replaced by mortgage.

The materials of the criminal proceeding on the latters’ part, with the bill of indictment, were sent to the prosecutor for approval and referral to court.

The part on illegal procurement of weapon, as well as illegal procurement and keeping of narcotic drugs in particularly large amount was separated in a separate proceeding, preliminary investigation of which is ongoing. Necessary measures are taken to find out the source, circumstances of procurement of the mentioned firearms and narcotic drugs.
