Murder in Lori; One Person Arrested

Within the framework of the criminal case initiated in Tumanyan Investigative Division of Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances, the motive of murder, infliction of bodily damage of medium gravity were found out.

The call on the mentioned case was received on August 15, 2022 at 20:30 from “Alaverdi” medical center informing that the body of 51 year-old resident of Akori village of Lori region with firearm injuries on the abdomen and chest was taken to the medical center. By another call it was informed that 54 year-old resident of Hagvi village with lacerated wounds on the head, injury of the left eye, chest was taken to the same medical center.

A criminal proceeding was initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 155 and the Point 7 of the Part 2 of the Article 167 of RA Criminal Code and the conduction of preliminary investigation was assigned to the investigative group.

In the result of investigative actions conducted within the criminal proceeding the circumstances of receiving bodily injuries by the mentioned residents of Akori and Hagvi were found out.

Particularly, through investigation data were obtained on the allegation that the day before the accident they had had an agreement on making grass of the resident of Akori village into bales by the resident of Hagvi.

On August 15, 2022 at about 09:30 the resident of Hagvi village in his tractor arrived in the field owned by the resident of Akori village. Seeing that there was little grass he refused to make it into bales. In response to it the resident of Akori called the resident of Hagvi for several times in the day and scolded him and his family after which on the same day at about 18:00 the latter, taking the hunting gun of 12mm caliber registered in his name, returned to the mentioned field and fired two shots towards the resident of Akori causing bodily injuries incompatible with life. Then the witnesses – the victim’s son and nephew hit the resident of Hagvi with hands and feet for numerous times causing bodily injuries.

The resident of Hagvi was arrested on the base of reasonable suspicion on crime committal, was questioned and gave self-incriminating testimony. The latter’s son presented the instrument of crime – the hunting gun to the investigative body.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
