Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated on grandmother’s murder committed by the grandson was completed in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

In the result of necessary investigative and procedural actions the circumstances of the case, among them the motive, were found out.

Particularly, through investigation factual data were obtained on the allegation that on November 1, 2022 at about 12:00 the resident of Vanadzor, born in 2004, argued with his 82 year-old grandmother living in the same apartment on personal matters during which, with the intent to illegally deprive of life, stabbed her for numerous times on different parts of her body thus murdering her.

Then in order to distort the reality – in order to create a false illusion of suicide, he took the grandmother’s body on the bed in the bedroom and put the knife – the instrument of crime, at the right wrist of the body.

On the base of the factual data obtained through investigation charge was pressed against the young man according to the Point 9 of the Part 2 of the Article 155 of RA Criminal Code.

Detention was used as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation was completed and the materials of the proceeding with the bill of indictment were sent to court.
