In the framework of the criminal case investigated in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee active investigatory and other procedural actions are ongoing to provide the comprehensive investigation of circumstances of armed assault against Vahagn Abgaryan in Yerevan. Preliminary investigation on one defendant was completed.

On September 14, 2017 shots were fired towards the resident of Lori region Vahagn Abgaryan and four people with him near the hotel located at 48, Hanrapetutyan Street. As a result, one person -Gagik Mosinyan, born in 1974, died at the site of the firearm injuries he had sustained, Vahagn Abgaryan, born in 1978, was taken to medical center with firearm injuries.

A criminal case was initiated preliminary investigation of which is conducted in the RA IC General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases. In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions of great volume a number of circumstances significant for the case were found out, those having committed the alleged crime were identified; they are residents of Alaverdi town A. Blbulyan, A. Karadavidov and resident of Yerevan R. Khachatryan, the motive was found, the actions of each of them were clarified.

Particularly, through preliminary investigation actual data were obtained on the allegation that in 2017 R. Khachatryan reached prior agreement with his acquaintances A. Karadavidov and A. Blbulyan on committing murder of the resident of Alaverdi V. Abgaryan and people accompanying him out of revenge. According to role distribution on the day of the incident R. Khachatryan drove the members of the group, as well as firearm and ammunition which were the crime tool to the site in his car.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against R. Khachatryan according to the Points 6 and 7 of the Part 2 of the Article 38-104, the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 38-34-104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code, detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him. The criminal case on the latter’s part was separated as a separate proceeding, preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.

Let us remind that on September 15 the investigator made a decision to involve A. Blbulyan and A. Karadavidov as a defendant according to the Points 6 and 7 of the Part 2 of the Article 104, the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against them and search was declared. They were found in Georgia and currently the issue of their transfer to Armenia is being discussed.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing, measures are taken to provide the comprehensive and objective investigation of the criminal case.
