In the result of procedural and evidentiary actions conducted, as well as operative-intelligence measures taken within the framework of proceedings initiated in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee three cases of stabbing committed between April 26 and April 30 on May 9 Street, Arshakunyats Avenue of Yerevan were disclosed.

Particularly, on April 26, 2023 at 02:40 a call was received form “Erebuni” medical center informing that 37 year-old resident of Yerevan with a cut-pierced wound was taken to medical center, who, pursuant to initial data, had received the mentioned bodily injury on May 9 Street.

Within the framework of the criminal proceeding initiated with regard to the case videos were confiscated, a number of persons were questioned. In the result of operative-intelligence measures the scene, the motive were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Yerevan.

Pursuant to data obtained through investigation, on April 26 at about 01:00 in the yard of one of the houses on Chekhov Street 37 year-old man argued about personal matters with the person having committed the alleged crime during which the latter caused bodily injury to 37 year-old man with a cutting-piercing item that was with him.

Public criminal prosecution was initiated against the latter according to the Point 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 166 of RA Criminal Code. Shengavit police division was assigned to arrest and bring him to the investigative body in order to present him to court.

On April 26 at 23:15 a call was received from “Shengavit” medical center informing that 19 year-old resident of Yerevan with a cut-pierced injury on the chest was taken to medical center.

Within the framework of the criminal proceeding initiated on the base of the report the young man was found a victim.

It was found out that on the same day starting from 22:00 at the area of one of the trade centers of Yerevan the young man with his friends met the employee of the trade center. Near the Pantheon after Komitas an argument took place between them during which the latter caused bodily injury to the young man with a cutting-piercing item.

In the result of operative-intelligence measures the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a 18 year-old employee of the mentioned trade center. The latter was arrested and brought to the investigative body. He presented the knife which was the instrument of the crime.

Charge was pressed against 18 year-old young man according to the Point 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 166 of RA Criminal Code. A number of expertises were commissioned to find out circumstances significant for the criminal proceeding.

On April 30 calls were received from “Astghik” and “Erebuni” medical centers informing that two residents of Yerevan, born in 1973 and 1977, with a diagnosis of “cut-pierced wound on the abdomen” were taken to medical centers. As it was found out later, they were brothers.

During preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated with regard to the case it was found out that on the mentioned day at about 22:00 during the wedding ceremony an argument took place near the restaurant between the participants of the ceremony. During the argument N.S. willfully stabbed the above-mentioned two persons on the abdomen causing bodily injury to them dangerous for health. N.S. turned himself to the investigative body and gave self-incriminating testimony.

The latter was arrested, during the investigative action he pointed out the place of stabbing and the place where he had thrown the knife.

On the base of the obtained facts charge was pressed against N.S. according to the Point 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 166 of RA Criminal Code (two counts). Detention was used as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation of the mentioned three proceedings is ongoing.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
