Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated on death of 73 year-old resident of Karbi village is ongoing in Aragatsotn Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

It was earlier informed that in the result of urgent investigative and procedural actions a number of circumstances significant for the case were found out.

Particularly, through investigation data were obtained that on November 3, 2022 an argument on domestic matters took place between 73 year-old woman and her son during which the latter hit his mother for numerous times on different parts of her body causing bodily injuries incompatible with life.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 73 year-old woman’s son according to the Points 7 and 15 of the Part 2 of the Article 166 of RA Criminal Code. A motion was submitted to court to use detention as a pretrial measure against him. It was sufficed.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
