Stabbing in Sari Tagh. Charge Pressed against 47 Year-Old Resident of Same District

Investigation is conducted in the Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out all circumstances of infliction of heavy damage to 40 year-old man’s health in Sari Tagh.

On January 1, 2020 at 20:55 a call was received from Erebuni medical center informing that a man, born in 1979, with “cut pierced wounds on the epigastric region, penetrating injury on the abdomen with damage of liver and stomach, cut-pierced wound on the left rib” was taken to them.

Pursuant to initial data, on January 1, 2020 at about 23:30 an argument took place in Yerevan in front of one of the houses in Sari Tagh during which the person having committed the alleged crime first punched the 40 year-old man then stabbed him for several times on several parts of his body causing heavy  bodily damage.

A criminal case was initiated in Erebuni Police Division according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code which was sent to the RA IC Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department and received in proceeding. 40 year-old man was found the injured party.

During preliminary investigation a number of investigatory actions, including confrontation were conducted, a number of persons were questioned.

In the result of operative-intelligence measures the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of the same district, born in 1972. He was arrested on suspicion of causing heavy bodily damage to 40 year-old man’s health. The latter presented the knife which was the crime tool to the investigative body.

An investigatory experimentation was conducted in his presence during which he pointed out the scene and told a number of details of the case. Forensic medical examination was commissioned.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 47 year-old resident of Sari Tagh according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation is conducted. Necessary investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to find out all circumstances of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
