Investigation is conducted in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out all circumstances of violence committed on April 20-22, 2018 at the area of Avan administrative district. One person having hindered the legal professional activity of the journalist was identified.

6 criminal cases initiated in the Police on incidents that took place on April 20-22, 2018 in Avan – on damaging the citizens’ cars, hindering the legal professional activity of the journalists of “Public Radio” and “Civilnet”, using violence by people in civilian clothes, some of them masked, were received in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA investigative Committee.

The mentioned criminal cases were joint in one proceeding, an investigatory plan has been worked out and investigatory and other procedural actions of great volume are conducted to disclose all manifestations of violence. In the result of measures taken actual data were obtained on the person who had hindered the legal professional activity of the employee of ‘Public Radio” agency on April 22 near “Ford” car service operating in Avan administrative district. He was found and questioned. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against the suspect.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. The videos of the mentioned incidents were inspected, the police subdivisions were tasked to take operative-intelligence measures.
