Young woman did not commit suicide but became victim of murder; charge pressed against husband

In the result of comprehensive investigation conducted in the Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee real circumstances of young woman's death were found out, sufficient evidence were obtained on the allegation that the latter had become a victim of murder. Charge was pressed against her husband.

The call on the woman's death, born in 1986, was received on March 3, 2017; a call was received from “Armenia” medical center informing that the resident of one of the houses of G-1 district of Yerevan, born in 1986, with diagnosis of «Polytrauma, unconscious condition» was taken to them from the same house. Some days later – on March 7 the injured woman died of the injuries she had sustained in medical center without regaining consciousness.  

The husband announced that his wife had fallen from the stairs of the second floor in the result of which she sustained the mentioned injuries.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on causing the young woman to commit suicide according to the Article 110 of RA Criminal Code, investigatory hypotheses were worked out and investigatory actions of great volume were conducted to find the real circumstances of the woman's death. Inspection of the site was conducted, samples were taken, the clothes that the victim was wearing at the moment of the incident were confiscated, a number of people were questioned.

Forensic medical, forensic chemical examinations, as well as forensic biological and forensic trace complex examinations were commissioned to find a number of circumstances significant for the criminal case.

As a result, it was found out that the 30 year-old woman did not commit suicide but sustained the injuries incompatible with life in the result of infliction of numerous injuries to her vital organs by her husband.

Pursuant to the obtained actual evidence, on the day of the incident at about 14:00 an argument took place between the spouses in their house during which the husband hit the wife for numerous times on her vital organs then threw her to the basement floor of the house inflicting injuries incompatible with life.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 30 year-old man according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code for killing his wife. The investigator submitted a motion to court to use detention as a pretrial measure against him, the motion was sufficed.

Preliminary investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
