Fight against illegal turnover of narcotic drugs, using internet for it is ongoing.

In the result of investigative and procedural actions conducted in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, as well as operative-intelligence measures taken by the police officers another similar case of illegal turnover of narcotic drugs in particularly large amount with the purpose of sale committed by 21 year-old resident of Yerevan has been disclosed.

Pursuant to factual data obtained through investigation, 21 year-old young man, deciding to earn income, through «Telegram» mobile application contacted the user of the page «L․․․» and agreed to place the packages filled with narcotic drug of «Marijuana» type in different parts of Yerevan, each for 10 USD. According to the agreement, in May, 2024 the young man illegally procured and kept narcotic drug in particularly large amount – totally 112 packages filled with «Marijuana» left by the user of the above-mentioned page in Ararat and Kotayk regions. One of them was found on May 21, 2024 through the young man’s personal search conducted by the police officers, 111 packages were found in the result of the search conducted in the latter’s car of «Toyota» make.

On the base of the obtained sufficient facts charge was pressed against the young man according to the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 393 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was used as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary measures are taken to identify others involved in illegal turnover of narcotic drugs in particularly large amount with the purpose of sale and to find them.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
