Within the criminal case investigated in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of murder of two residents of Vanadzor committed in Hambardzumyan Street of the same town on February 9, 2020 were found out. Charge was pressed against 4 persons.

It was earlier informed that on February 9, 2020 in Hambardzumyan Street, Vanadzor, for the purpose of deprivation from life the person having committed the alleged crime fired shots against four residents of Lori with a firearm procured illegally and fled. The mentioned persons who had sustained firearm bodily injuries were taken to medical center, two of them – residents of Vanadzor, born in 1990, died on the way to medical center.

We had also informed that on March 7, 2020 at the gates of Botanical Institute of Lori province 40 year-old resident of Vanadzor argued out of hooliganism then beat his fellow citizen. Then together with his friend, he chased him in his car of “Toyota Land Cruiser” make and in Abovyan Street of Vanadzor pushed him to the ground, hit him with hands and feet, then stabbed him on different parts of his body causing heavy bodily damage threatening to life. In the result of searches conducted within the criminal case a pistol, 9 bullets, 2 explosives, as well as 60.74 grams of drug of “Marijuana” type kept illegally were found in the apartment of one of them.   

Through investigation it was found out that murder of 2 residents of Vanadzor had also been committed by the mentioned 40 year-old man.

Considering that the mentioned apparent crimes had been committed by the same person a decision was made to combine criminal cases initiated on the incidents and conduct investigation in one proceeding.

Pursuant to data obtained through investigation, 64 year-old resident of Vanadzor, for the purpose of depriving 30 year-old resident of Vanadzor and his friends from life, from November to December, 2019 gave 28 year-old young man a pistol of “AK-74” model and bullets procured and kept illegally and tasked to search them. His 40 year-old son, being in tense relations with 30 year-old resident of Vanadzor and his friends due to argument they had had, supported his father and in December, 2019 took 28 year-old young man and 19 year-old resident of Vanadzor in his car of “Gazel” make to the area adjoining to one of the restaurants in Vanadzor for 28 year-old young man to commit murder of the mentioned persons with the help of 19 year-old resident of Vanadzor. However, under unforeseen circumstances the murder of the mentioned persons was not committed as 28 year-old young man did not commit the mentioned crime and returned the pistol and bullets to 40 year-old man’s father.

Then with the intention to revenge 40 year-old man carrying the pistol of “AK-74” model and bullets, on February 9, 2020 at about 18:20 drove to Hambardzumyan Street of Vanadzor in the car of “Niva” make with 56 year-old and 19 year-old men where he fired shots towards 30 year-old man and his friends in a way dangerous for many people’s life. Two of them – residents of Vanadzor, born in 1990, died on the way to hospital of the injuries they had sustained.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 40 year-old man according to the Points 1, 8 of the Part 2 of the Article 35-38-104 (supporting, preparing murder), the Points 1, 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 (murder), the Part 1 of the Article 235 (illegal procurement, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices), the Points 6 and 9 of the Part 2 of the Article 112 (infliction of willful heavy damage to health) of RA Criminal Code. Charge was pressed against his father according to the Points 1 and 8 of the Part 2 of the Article 35-38-104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. Charge was pressed against 56 year-old man according to the Points 1, 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 38-104, the Points 6 and 9 of the Part 2 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal code and against 19 year-old young man – according to the Part 1 of the Article 235 and the Point 2 of the Part 2 of the Article 268 (illegal turnover of narcotic drugs or psychotropic materials without the purpose of sale) of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against them.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
