It was informed by the RA Investigative Committee that through preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding investigated in the First Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department a secret laboratory for making narcotic drugs in a two-story house located in Norqi Ayginer Street of Yerevan had been discovered.

In the result of the search conducted in the mentioned house 218 shrubs similar to hemp plant, plastic bags with packages of "Marijuana" drug-like mass with weight of 6599.199 grams, in total, scales with traces of a white crystalline mass and a yellowish-green vegetal mass, packages with white powdery mass, devices emitting ultraviolet light, air humidification and drying equipment, fertilizers, containers for growing hemp shrubs, a system for watering the shrubs and other items were found.

It was found out that a specialist from another country also worked in the secret drug making laboratory.

Four persons were arrested on the reasonable suspicion of allegedly committing the mentioned crime two of which were women from Yerevan and Vayk, a man – an RF citizen and a man - a citizen of South Korea.

On the base of the facts obtained through investigation charge was pressed against them according to the Points 1, 2 and 3 of the Part 2 of the Article 393 of RA Criminal Code for the allegation that the latters, reaching prior agreement, on April 21, 2023 rented the two-story house located in Norqi Ayginer Street of Yerevan where, in order to receive narcotic drug of «Marijuana» type created special facilities in all the rooms of the house with ventilation and lighting systems then sowed 218 shrubs similar to hemp plant in plastic and other containers and grew in special conditions to sell them and receive income.

Then, the mature stems of the "Cannabis" plants containing tetrahydrocannabinol, grown under special conditions, were processed, divided into equal parts, packed and sold to other people.

Detention was used as a pretrial measure against two men. A motion was submitted to court to choose detention as a pretrial measure against the other female members of the group, as well.

In the course of large-scale investigation of the mentioned proceeding another object for making narcotic drugs was also discovered. Particularly, search was conducted in the apartment of one of the houses in Heratsi Street, Yerevan where about 80 plastic and "Zip" packages of different colors with yellowish-green mass, 4 plastic containers with traces of yellowish-green mass, 2 bags filled with seeds, 3 pipes with ash traces, scales and a glass vial with traces of yellowish-green mass, 2 metal grinders, disposable glove box, computers, several mobile phones, bank cards and other items were found.

Forensic expertise was commissioned to find out the composition of the discovered drug-like masses.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary measures are taken to find out all circumstances of growing, making drugs, all those involved in making drugs and illegal turnover of narcotic drugs. The Police were assigned to find and bring them to the investigative body.
