Charge Pressed against 5 Persons within Criminal Cases on Explosion on Yerevan-Sevan Highway, as well as on Using Violence against Representative of Authorities, Hindrance to Administration of Justice and Conducting Investigation

In the result of close cooperation between the investigators of Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee and the officers of the RA National Security Service the explosion on Yerevan-Sevan highway was disclosed.

We remind that on August 2, 2019 at about 12:30 an explosive was put under the bridge located at the 15th km of Yerevan-Sevan highway and was exploded while M. Manukyan’s car of “Range Rover” make, as well as the cars of “Nissan” and “Patrol” make accompanying him were in motion.

In the result of joint actions conducted by the officers of Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee and the RA National Security Service a number of undeniable facts significant for the criminal case were obtained and based on them charge was pressed against three persons according to the Points 6 and 7 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104 and the Part 2 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against them.

Within the criminal case investigated on using violence against the representative of authorities, hindrance to administration of justice and conducting investigation charge was pressed against one person according to the Part 1 of the Article 316 and the Part 2 of the Article 332 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Within the mentioned criminal case charge was also pressed against R. Manukyan according to the Part 1 of the Article 316 and the Part 2 of the Article 38-332 of RA Criminal Code. On August 6 the investigative body submitted a motion to court to use detention as a pretrial measure against R. Manukyan.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
