In the result of urgent investigatory, procedural actions conducted, operative-intelligence measures taken in the RA IC Abovyan Investigative Division of Kotayk Regional Investigative Department circumstances of explosion that took place on Yerevan-Sevan highway were found out.

Within the criminal case initiated on the incident three persons, born in 1963, 1966 and 1974 were arrested on suspicion of committing crimes envisaged by the Point 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code.

It was earlier informed that on August 2, 2019 at about 12:30 the person having committed the alleged crime put an explosive under the bridge located at the 15^th km of Yerevan-Sevan highway and exploded M. Manukyan’s car of “Range Rover” make, as well as the cars of “Nissan” and “Patrol” make accompanying him while they were in motion. However, under unforeseen circumstances the crime was not completed.   

A criminal case was initiated according to the Point 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. The four persons in the cars were found the injured party.

Urgent investigatory actions were conducted – inspection of the scene was conducted, samples were taken, witnesses were questioned.

Forensic explosion, forensic merchandising, forensic trace and forensic genetic examinations were commissioned to find out circumstances significant for the criminal case.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
