The investigator’s motion to use detention as a pretrial measure against R. Manukyan was confirmed today by the court. Charge was pressed against R. Manukyan for using violence against the representative of authorities, hindrance to administration of justice and conducting investigation according to the Part 1 of the Article 316 and the Part 2 of the Article 38-332 of RA Criminal Code.

It was earlier informed that on August 2, 2019 with the intend to conceal the car of “Range Rover” make with traces of crime from investigation, as well as to hinder the investigator to conduct inspection of the scene the man, born in 1976, not obeying RA Police officers’ legal demands not to get into the car and not to move it, got into the mentioned car and driving it towards the police officer escaped from the scene thus threatening to use violence not dangerous for life and health.

A criminal case was initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 316 and the Part 2 of the Article 332 of RA Criminal Code.

We remind that within the mentioned criminal case charge was also pressed against a resident of Abovyan, born in 1976, according to the Part 1 of the Article 316 and the Part 2 of the Article 332 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
