Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on illegal procurement, keeping and transportation of weapon, ammunition was completed in the Department of Investigation of Crimes against Humanity of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee. Charge was pressed against 38 year-old resident of Abovyan town.

In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions conducted within the criminal case investigated on willful destruction of the entrance door of the apartment of the resident of Abovyan and his car of “Nissan Tida” make parked in the yard by arson another apparent crime was disclosed.

Particularly, during preliminary investigation of the mentioned criminal case data were obtained on illegal keeping of weapon by the resident of Abovyan. Through search of the car driven by him a pistol which is a firearm with 8 bullets was found.

A new criminal case was initiated in the Department of Investigation of Crimes against Humanity of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee on illegal procurement, keeping and transportation of weapon and ammunition which was joint to the criminal case initiated on willful destruction of the property of Abovyan resident.

In the result of necessary investigatory actions it was found out that the resident of Abovyan, born in 1981, illegally procured and kept a pistol of “Makarov” model with 8 bullets fit for shooting in the car of «BMW X5» driven by him.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 38 year-old resident of Abovyan according to the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was used as a pretrial measure against him.  

A decision was made to separate the criminal case initiated on illegal procurement, keeping and transportation of weapon and ammunition as a separate proceeding preliminary investigation of which was completed and with the bill of indictment was sent to prosecutor supervising the legality of preliminary investigation.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
