Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on using violence against the employees of the RA Police by the son of the former head of Urtsadzor community is ongoing in Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

On the base of the data received in the result of investigative and other procedural actions the investigative body made a decision to change the charge pressed formerly against the son of the former head of the community.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against the latter for using violence dangerous for health against the representative of authorities and willful spoilage of property of the RA Police according to the Part 2 of the Article 316 and the Point 3 of the Part 2 of the Article 185 of RA Criminal Code. The detention period used as a pretrial measure against him was extended by the court.

It should be added that the existence of real estate registered in his name was examined to solve the issue on imposing ban on the property owned by the son of the former head of the community to provide the possible civil suit and court costs within the criminal case. As a result, it was found out that 2 transport means as well as 36 real estate properties are registered in 33 year-old defendant’s name in the city of Yerevan, regions of Ararat, Armavir and Lori. The mentioned information was passed to the Prosecutor’s Office of Ararat region.

It was earlier informed that on January 15, 2022 while the former head of Urtsadzor community was being apprehended on suspicion of committing arrogation, the latter’s son used violence dangerous for life and health against the police officers related to performance of their service duties as well as willfully spoiled the car on the balance sheet of Ararat Police Division.

Pursuant to data obtained through investigation, the son of the community head in the car of “VAZ 2121” make in which there was also one of the residents of the same village, in order to prevent the police officers’ legal actions, drove opposite the car of “Toyota” make on the balance sheet of Ararat Police Division and hit the frontal part of he mentioned car with the frontal part of his car. Then he started to complain of his father’s apprehension demanding to immediately let him free, threatened the police officers not obeying their legal demands.  

The police officers demanded not to hinder their work however seeing that the young man did not stop his aggressive behavior, apprehended him to Ararat Police Division.

In the result of the crash two of the police officers received bodily injuries.

During the inspections of the scene and the transport means conducted during preliminary investigation a double-barreled hunting gun, hunting gun case and bullets were found in the car of “VAZ 2121” make.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
