Charge pressed for using violence against representative of authority

In the result of necessary investigatory actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case investigated in Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of violence used against police officer were found; charge was pressed against a resident of Syunik.

On January 24, 2018 a call was received informing that in one of the flats in Kajaran the citizen used violence against police inspector related to his service duties.

A criminal case was initiated preliminary investigation of which is conducted in the RA IC Syunik Regional Investigative Department. In the result of necessary investigatory and other procedural actions a number of circumstances significant for the criminal case were found.

Particularly, through preliminary investigation actual data were obtained on the allegation that on January 24, 2018 at about 12:30 the resident of Syunik went to bank to get the benefit for his baby’s birth where he found out that pursuant to the defined order the benefit is not given in cash and started to complain loudly because of which the police officer performing his duties in the bank told him to leave the bank. Then the citizen called the police and told about the crime, as he thought, on not giving him the benefit. The police inspector went to his flat to check the call. The citizen, blaming the policemen for not giving him the benefit, argued and hit the inspector on the face with his head.

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against the resident of Syunik according to the Part 1 of the Article 316 of RA Criminal Code.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
