Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on murder attempt committed against the resident of Nork-Marash district is ongoing in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

As it was already informed, on May 24, 2021 at 17:45 the resident of Nork-Marash district, Yerevan with a firearm injury on the left part of the chest was taken to “University Hospital N 1 after Heratsi”.

Pursuant to investigation data, the latter had sustained the mentioned bodily injury on the same day at about 17:00 in his residence as a result of the shot fired by the person having committed the alleged crime with a firearm kept by him illegally.

In the result of urgent measures taken jointly with the employees of relevant subdivision of the RA Police the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is the nephew of the victim.  The latter turned himself to the law enforcement bodies and was arrested.

Charge was pressed against him for murder attempt against his uncle and illegal procurement, keeping and carrying of weapon. A motion was submitted to court to use detention as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Measures are taken to find out all circumstances, to provide the objective, comprehensive and complete investigation of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
