In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Stepanavan Investigative Division of Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of death of 39 year-old resident of Lernahovit village were found out. Charge was pressed against 36 year-old man.

45 year-old resident of Tashir town submitted a report informing that on June 4, 2019 at about 00:30 near his house several people approached his cousin – 39 year-old resident of Lernahovit village of Lori province and because of disagreement they had had before attacked and hit him on several parts of his body and fled. Pursuant to the report, after the incident the brothers went home and spent the night where 39 year-old man died.

A criminal case was initiated in Stepanavan Investigative Division of Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Points 6 and 14 of the Part 2 of the Article 112 and the Article 118 of RA Criminal Code.

During preliminary investigation of the criminal case a number of urgent investigatory and procedural actions were conducted – inspections of the scene, of the body, videos captured by the cameras located at the area adjacent to the scene were confiscated and inspected, confiscations were conducted, a number of witnesses were questioned.

Forensic medical and forensic biological complex examination, forensic trace and forensic criminological examinations were commissioned to find out circumstances significant for the criminal case.

On November 7, 2019 the person having committed the alleged crime who is a resident of Stepanavan, born in 1983, turned himself to the investigative body and gave testimony. On the same day 36 year-old man was arrested.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against the latter according to the Points 6 and 14 of the Part 2 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
