Commander of unit arrested in the framework of the criminal case on serviceman Sevak Hambardzumyan's death
In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Ninth Garrison Investigative Unit of General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on serviceman Sevak Hambardzumyan's death another serviceman of the same unit was arrested.
S. Hambardzumyan with firearm injury on the frontal part of the head was found on March 24 at about 09:20 in the rifle range of the unit N of the RA Ministry of Defense, he died on the way to hospital in Kapan.
According to initial data, the serviceman had been insulted, his dignity had been periodically humiliated by a commander of the same unit, serviceman N. Chichakyan.
On March 29 N. Chichakyan was arrested on suspicion of committing crimes envisaged by the Part 1 of the Article 375 (transgression of authority out of mercenary motives by a commander or official) and the Part 2 of the Article 360 of RA Criminal Code (insulting a serviceman).
Preliminary investigation is ongoing, necessary investigatory actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, objective and complete investigation of the case.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
