Three persons arrested on the case of firearm injury sustained by serviceman Razmik Abrahamyan

In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Fifth Garrison Investigative Unit of General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee the circumstances and the cause of suicide attempt committed by the serviceman R. Abrahamyan were found. On December 10 three persons were arrested.

On December 9, 2015 the Fifth Garrison Investigative Unit of General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee received a report from the unit N of the RA Ministry of Defense informing that at about 12:15 the serviceman Razmik Abrahamyan sustained a firearm injury on the left part of his chest. On the same day at about 12:20 R. Abrahamyan was taken to CJSC “Chambarak’s Health Center” then to the Central Military Hospital of the RA Ministry of Defense. The serviceman’s condition is grave.

A criminal case was initiated in the Fifth Garrison Investigative Unit of General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 3 of the Article 359 of RA Criminal Code (Breach of relations prescribed by the field manual between servicemen not subordinated to each other which negligently caused grave consequences).

An investigatory plan was worked out and numerous investigatory actions were conducted to find the circumstances of the firearm injury sustained by serviceman.

According to initial data on December 9 at about 11:55 R. Abrahamyan entered the storehouse of intelligence unit, took the firearm of AKS-74 model which belonged to the platoon commander of the intelligence unit, Lieutenant H. Yeghiazaryan, took a bullet of 5.45 caliber out of the bag envisaged for bullet-proof vest which was in the same room, charged the firearm and inflicted himself a firearm injury on the left part of the chest.

Through inspection of R. Abrahamyan’s clothes a letter to his father was found in the pocket. In the letter it was written that he had been caused to commit suicide by the fellow servicemen.

The servicemen A. Karapetyan, S. Melqonyan and V. Ter-Vardanyan were arrested on suspicion of committing crime envisaged by the Part 3 of the Article 359 of RA Criminal Code.

Necessary measures are taken to find the circumstances of crime.
