Criminal Case Initiated on Hooliganism by Using Weapon; One Person Arrested
A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on hooliganism committed by use of weapon. One person was arrested.
On December 23, 2018 at 21:20 a call was received from a citizen informing that in Avan district of Yerevan a man was firing shots.
Pursuant to initial data, the man, born in 1986, fired shots with «MR43-0952345» hunting gun of 12mm caliber fired shots towards one of the apartments of Street 14 of Avan, scolded loudly after which the 68 year-old resident of one of the apartments of the mentioned street made a remark to the 32 year-old man. The latter using violence willfully fired shots towards the feet of the man who had made a remark causing firearm injuries of both lower limbs. 68 year-old resident was found the injured party.
A criminal case was initiated according to the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code. Inspection of the scene was conducted. A number of persons were questioned.
32 year-old resident of Yerevan was arrested on suspicion of committing apparent hooliganism by using weapon.
Forensic medical, forensic genetic, forensic ballistic examinations were commissioned.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
