The criminal case initiated on using violence against police officers related to performance of their duties was received in the proceeding of the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

Pursuant to criminal case data, on April 18, 2018 at about 12:30 near 34, Abovyan Street, Yerevan violence was used against the officers of Yerevan Criminal Intelligence Unit of the RA Police who were performing their duties.

A criminal case was initiated in Police Central Division according to the Part 2 of the Article 316 of RA Criminal Code and the criminal case was sent to the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

Urgent investigatory and other procedural actions were conducted to find the circumstances of the case. Pursuant to the testimonies of the injured on the day of the incident performing their service duties they tried to apprehend an offender during which a few people attacked and used violence against them hitting them on different parts of their bodies with hands and feet. Through investigation 2 of those directly involved in using violence were identified and arrested.  

Further conduction of preliminary investigation of the criminal case was tasked to Yerevan Investigative Department.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
