In the result of measures taken by the employees of Vagharshapat Investigative Division of Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee and the Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, a criminal group engaged in illegal turnover of narcotic drugs was disclosed; a secret laboratory for making drugs by the group was found.

Through investigative and evidentiary actions the members of the group were identified, the actions of each of them were personalized.

So, operative information was received in Vagharshapat Division of the Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs on inserting and selling narcotic drugs of «Methamphetamine» and «Marijuana» type through «Telegram» in Armavir region and Yerevan by the residents of Armavir region, 43 and 42 year-old brothers.

With regard to the case a criminal proceeding was initiated in Vagharshapat Division of Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Points 1 and 2 of the Part 2 of the Article 393 of RA Criminal Code.

Through investigation it was found out that one of the brothers, with the intention of illegal turnover of narcotic drugs, created and managed a criminal group involving his brother, uncle and the latter’s son.

Searches were conducted in the residences of the above-mentioned people during which totally 677,2 g. mass similar to drug of «Marijuana» type, 8 boxes with hemp plant seed-like mass, zip lock packages for drug packaging,  adhesive tapes and electronic scales were found.

Through the search conducted in the residence of his uncle’s 31 year-old son and adjacent buildings a laboratory with necessary equipment for growing hemp, ventilation and irrigation systems was found where there were 23 hemp plants. A rifle of «Makarov» model, bullets and mass similar to drug of «Marijuana» were also found.

With regard to the case a new criminal proceeding was initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 335, the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 43-393, the Part 3 of the Article 396, the Part 1 of the Article 404 of RA Criminal Code which was combined with the above-mentioned criminal proceeding for conduction of objective and comprehensive investigation.

Pursuant to the result of the expertise commissioned to find out the composition of the masses the greenish-brown vegetable mass of one of the packages is 142,43 homemade drug of «Marijuana» type. It was found out that herbs of the genus "hemp" were also found in the packages presented to the expertise.

On the base of the obtained facts charge was pressed against one of the brothers according to the Part 3 of the Article 404, the Points 1 and 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 393, the Part 1 of the Article 318 and the Part 1 of the Article 335 of RA Criminal Code, against the other – according to the Part 3 of the Article 404, the Points 1 and 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 393 and the Part 1 of the Article 318 of RA Criminal Code.

Charge was pressed against their uncle and his 31 year-old son according to the Part 3 of the Article 404, the Points 1 and 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 393, the Part 1 of the Article 319 of RA Criminal Code.

In the result of measures taken by the employees of Vagharshapat Investigative Division of the RA Investigative Committee the person who had procured drugs was also identified; he is a resident of Ararat region. The latter was arrested, taken to Vagharshapat Police Division and brought to the investigative body.

Motions were submitted to court to use detention as a pretrial measure against the mentioned 4 defendants. They were sufficed.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to find out others possibly involved in the criminal group, as well as to identify those having procured drugs.

The relevant subdivision of the Police was assigned to take operative-intelligence measures.
