Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on apparent attempt of swindling, taking bribe committed by the deputy head of Nork-Marash administrative district of Yerevan is ongoing in the Division of Investigation of Grave Crimes of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

On November 2, 2021 the court sufficed the motion on choosing detention as a pretrial measure against the deputy head of the administrative district submitted by the investigative body.

It was earlier informed that in the result of investigative and other procedural actions as well as measures taken jointly with the employees of the RA National Security Service a number of circumstances significant for the case were found out.

Particularly, it was found out that the deputy head of Nork-Marash administrative district of Yerevan,  presenting that the  plot of land located in Nor Nork administrative district, owned by the community factually belonged to him, gaining the buyer’s confidence tried to sell it and swindle money in particularly large amount - 4.834.900 AMD.

Through investigation factual data were obtained on the allegation that the deputy head of the administrative district reached agreement with the buyer on bribe of 4.000 USD for performing actions within his competences.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against him according to the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-178 and the Point 2 of the Part 4 of the Article 311 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
