Illegal Turnover of Narcotic Drugs Disclosed; Charge Pressed against One Person
In the result of necessary investigatory and other procedural actions conducted in the Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of illegal turnover of narcotic drugs were found out. Charge was pressed against one person.
Pursuant to the report submitted on November 18, 2019 by the officers of Department of Fight against Illegal Turnover of Narcotic Drugs of General Department of Fight against Organized Crime of the RA Police through personal search of a citizen who had been apprehended to Mashtots Police Division on suspicion of illegal procurement, keeping and using of narcotic drugs a drug capsule with a note «LYRICA 300mg» was found in his sock.
In the result of operative-intelligence measures it was found out that the citizen had bought the mentioned drug capsule in one of the pharmacies of Yerevan.
Pursuant to the result of forensic chemical examination the white powdery mass of 0.398 grams in one drug capsule contained psychotropic material of «Pregabalin» type. Search was conducted in the mentioned pharmacy. As a result, 56 pills with a note «LYRICA 300mg» were found.
A criminal case was initiated in Mashtots Police Division according to the Part 1 of the Article 266 of RA Criminal Code preliminary investigation of which is conducted in the RA IC Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department.
Within the criminal case forensic chemical examination was commissioned and pursuant to its result psychotropic material of «Pregabalin» type was found in 56 pills with a note «LYRICA 300mg».
In the result of necessary measures taken within the criminal case the person, from whom the pharmacy director had procured the narcotic drug of «Lyrica» type, was identified; he is a resident of Yerevan, born in 1975. It was also found out that the pills of «Lyrica» type had been sold by the employee of the pharmacy, as well.
On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 44 year-old resident of Yerevan according to the Part 1 of the Article 266 of RA Criminal Code (2 counts). A motion was submitted to court to choose detention as a pretrial measure against him. It was sufficed.
The director and the employee of the pharmacy were involved as a suspect. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against them.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
