In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee illegal turnover of narcotic drugs in particularly large amount was disclosed, 6 people were arrested.

On July 6, 2018 in the result of operative-searching measures 4 people, 3 of them foreigners were apprehended from the crossroad of Halabyan-Arzumanyan Streets of Yerevan on suspicion of keeping and selling narcotic drugs. One of them had 6 plastic containers of 5 liters capacity filled with limpid liquid, a plastic container of 1 liter capacity filled with colorless liquid and 2 plastic containers of 1 liter capacity filled with dark liquid.

Besides, packages were found. In the first one there was brawn powdery mass which weighted 1.83 grams together with the package. In the second package there was white crystal mass of 5.17 grams, in the third one there was black solid mass of 6.83 grams, in the fourth there was yellowish crushed and dried mass of 3.32 grams, in the fifth there was yellowish crushed and dried mass of 0.68 grams and in the sixth there was yellowish crushed and dried mass of 11.48 and 15.21 grams.

The second foreigner had a glass container filled with colorless, fragrant liquid the total weight of which was 85.27 grams.

Pursuant to their statement the found mass was drugs of “Heroin”, “Opium”, “Marijuana” and “Crystal” types, “Crystal water, “Methadone syrup” which were brought to Armenia from IRI on July 6 to be sold.

A criminal case was initiated according to the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 266 and the Part 3 of the Article 268 of RA Criminal Code preliminary investigation of which is conducted in the RA IC Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department. By the decision of the Division Head the investigation was tasked to the investigatory group. Forensic chemical examinations were conducted.

In the result of urgent measures 6 people were arrested 3 of which foreigners on suspicion of procuring, keeping drugs in particularly large amount, three more RA citizens - on suspicion of attempt of illegal procurement of drugs in particularly large amount with the purpose of selling.

Preliminary investigation is under way, active investigatory and operative-searching measures are taken to find all circumstances of the case, to find others possibly involved.
