In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Lori Regional Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee initiated on murder of the resident of the town of Tashir, Zoya Mkrtchyan a charge was pressed against the person having committed the apparent crime.

Through preliminary investigation it was particularly found that on 27 January, 2014 the resident of Lori region A. Khanaghyan visited Z. Mkrtchyan to borrow money from her taking with him a metal rod.

Hosted by Z. Mkrtchyan A. Khanaghyan borrowed money from her but he was refused after which he stuck on her head with the stick taken with him in advance for numerous times. In the result of the bodily damages the woman died. Then A. Khanaghyan looked for money and other valuable things at home but not finding anything valuable, he took the woman’s mobile phone which was on the table of the living-room, the metal rod and left home.

On 28 January, 2014 a criminal case was initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code.

On the base of evidence obtained through preliminary investigation on 22 February, 2015 A. Khanaghyan was charged with willful murder. On the same day the investigator submitted a motion to the Court of First Instance of Lori to use imprisonment as a pretrial measure against him which was sufficed.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to provide the comprehensive and complete examination of the circumstances of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
