Murder out of Jealousy and Revenge; Case Sent to Court

Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on 34 year-old woman’s murder was completed in Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

In the result of large-scale investigative and other procedural actions conducted during pretrial proceeding the scene, the motive, as well as circumstances of receiving bodily injury incompatible with life by the victim was found out.

Through investigation it was found out and grounded that 35 year-old man, being in a de facto marital relationship with his 34 year-old girl-friend, jointly purchased a car of “Nissan Tiana” make and registered it in the man’s name.

After a while the latter learning that his girl-friend was in close relations with another resident of Armavir region and was going to marry him, tried to hinder. As a result, the relations between them became tense during which he threatened to kill her for many times, required to return the above-mentioned car.

In order to resolve the disagreements the man and the woman arranged and on December 25, 2020 met at Aghavnatun-Lernamerdz highway where the man, out of jealousy and revenge, for the purpose of murdering the woman, fired two shots towards her from a weapon kept illegally. One of the shots touched the car doors, the other – the woman. As a result, bodily damage incompatible with life was caused to the latter.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 35 year-old man according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.

Preliminary investigation on the part of illegal procurement, keeping of weapon was completed. Measures are taken to find out the source of procurement of the weapon.
