Preliminary Investigation of Criminal Proceeding on Swindling 2.3 Million AMD in total by Embezzlement from Colleagues Committed by Employee of “Stepanavan Medical Center” Completed
Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated on embezzlement committed by the inspector of the personnel department of “Stepanavan Medical Center” CJSC was completed in Stepanavan Investigative Division of Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.
Particularly, through investigation it was grounded that the employee of the medical center holding the position of staff inspector of stationary service of “Stepanavan Medical Center” CJSC from November, 2013 to September, 2020, through embezzlement swindled money in large amount - 2.340.000 AMD in total from 46 employees of the same medical center collected for trainings to be held in Yerevan State Medical University for their professional improvement.
It was found out that during June-August, 2020 the inspector was assigned by the director of the medical center to organize the participation of pediatricians and nurses in the professional development courses for the institution's medical employees, to be held on a paid basis by “Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi” Foundation. Conditioned by confidence and personal relations with them, between July and August, 2020 the inspector collected 60.000 AMD from each pediatrician and 50.000 AMD from each nurse which she did not transfer to the bank account of “Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi” Foundation and stole. For this reason the professional development courses were not held and damage in large amount - 2.340.000 AMD in total was caused to the employees.
On the base of the obtained facts charge was pressed against the mentioned inspector according to the Point 3 of the Part 2 of the Article 179 of RA former Criminal Code. Absence ban was chosen as a pretrial measure against her. During preliminary investigation the damage caused was partially restored.
Preliminary investigation was completed and the materials of the proceeding with the bill of indictment were sent to the prosecutor for approval and referral to court.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
