Preliminary investigation on one defendant within the criminal case initiated on using violence against the employees of the Department of Fight against Smuggling of the RA State Revenue Committee was completed in Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

In the result of investigative and other procedural actions conducted during preliminary investigation it was found out that on September 25, 2021 in the customs inspection zone of the customs checkpoint of Meghri the resident of Agarak town hindered the process of mandatory inspection of his car, opposed and argued with the employees of the Department of Fight against Smuggling of the RA State Revenue Committee, who are representative of authorities, threatened and hit them causing bodily injuries.

Then together with his brother entering the working room of the head of Syunik territorial division of the Department of Fight against Smuggling of the RA State Revenue Committee, threatening him demanded and forced not to conduct mandatory inspection of his car, and using violence not dangerous for life together with his brother, pulled, hit him with hands and feet on different parts of his body.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against one of the brothers according to the Part 1 of the Article 316 of RA Criminal Code and detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him. The part on the latter was separated in a separate proceeding, preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the motion to confirm the bill of indictment and send it to court, was sent to the prosecutor.

It was earlier informed that the other brother was involved as a defendant according to the Part 1 of the Article 316 of RA Criminal Code, search was declared and detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him. A decision was made to separate the part on him in a separate proceeding and continue preliminary investigation.

Operative-intelligence and operative-searching measures are taken to find and bring him to the investigative body.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
