The Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Aghvan Hovsepyan today received the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Peter Svitalski.
 

During the meeting the parties assessed highly the quality of cooperation and discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest. The RA IC Chairman referred to preliminary investigation of criminal cases on abuses found in grant programs carried out by EU Delegation investigated in the proceeding of the RA Investigative Committee.  
 

Two criminal cases were initiated in the Investigative Committee on swindling grant money provided by the European Union Delegation to Armenia and in one of these cases sufficient evidence were obtained on the allegation that swindling of AMD tantamount to 134.620 Euro was committed, the mechanism of swindling was found, the person having committed the apparent crime was identified. The latter pled guilty and restored the damage inflicted completely.
 

In the framework of the second criminal case a number of episodes of swindling were revealed and 10 persons were involved as a defendant, moreover, search was declared against two of them. Investigatory actions of great volume are conducted in the framework of the criminal case to find the real volume of swindling, the frame of those involved in the given criminal case and to personalize the actions of each of them. The RA IC Chairman Aghvan Hovsepyan highlighted finding the persons under persecution to provide the comprehensive, objective and complete investigation of the case.  
 

The Ambassador expressed willingness to support the investigation within his jurisdiction and an agreement was achieved to continue the discussions in working order.
 

The parties also discussed issues on developing the cooperation outlining new directions.
