Resident of Stepanavan Arrested on Suspicion of Using Violence against Police Officers during Argument on not Wearing Mask
On July 3, 2020 at about 19:45 while carrying out their service duties in Baghramyan Street, Stepanavan police officers of Stepanavan Police Division noticed that the passenger of the car of “Opel Zafira” make, breaching the Commandant’s decision, was not wearing a protective mask and stopped the car.
The passenger of the mentioned car, being under the influence of alcohol, got out of the car, argued with police officers, did not obey their legal demands, scolded them, hit them with hands and pulled the uniform buttons thus using violence against representatives of authorities not dangerous for health.
A criminal case was initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 316 (violence against representative of authorities) of RA Criminal Code preliminary investigation of which is conducted in Stepanavan Investigative Division of Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. Three of the police officers were found the injured party.
The person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Stepanavan. He was apprehended, questioned and on the same day was arrested on suspicion of using violence against police officers.
During preliminary investigation inspections of the scene, of the videos captured by the cameras at the scene were conducted, a number of forensic examinations were commissioned, witnesses were questioned.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to provide the complete, objective and comprehensive investigation of the case.
