Resident of Torfavan Village Arrested on Suspicion of Using Violence Dangerous for Life against Policeman
On July 7, 2020 at about 21:10 28 year-old resident of Torfavan village of Gegharkunik province, entering Vardenis Police Division, scolded the police after which he was told to leave the division. However, at the entrance door he went on shouting and scolding at the same time hitting the door with fists. The police officer approached him to bring him in order however 28 year-old young man not obeying the legal demands of the representative of authorities used violence against him and stabbed him causing cut-pierced bodily injuries on the left thigh, the left part of the chest. The police officer was taken to hospital.
A criminal case was initiated in Vardenis Investigative Division of Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 2 of the Article 316 (violence against representative of authorities) of RA Criminal Code. 28 year-old resident was arrested.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
