In the result of urgent investigatory and operative-searching measures taken in the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Malatia-Sebastia administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of significant circumstances of murder of the resident of Yerevan Arshak Galstyan were found, search was declared against one person.

The body of 38 year-old Arshak Galstyan with firearm injuries was found on December 6, 2017 at about 00:25 in his car of “Nissan” make parked at 13/2, Babajanyan Street.

In the result of urgent investigatory and operative-searching measures taken in the framework of the criminal case a number of circumstances of murder were found; shots had been fired towards A. Galstyan by a person who was in another car, the car make was found, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Yerevan, born in 1986. The firearm which was the crime tool was also found.

Through preliminary investigation actual data were obtained on the victim’s relation with the person having committed the alleged crime, on the causes of unfriendly relations between them.

The investigator of the Investigative Division of Malatia-Sebastia administrative district today made a decision to involve the 31 year-old resident of Yerevan as a defendant for Arshak Galstyan’s murder according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code and search was declared against him. A motion was submitted to court to choose detention as a pretrial measure against him.

The relevant subdivisions of the police were tasked to take measures to find the person having committed the alleged crime and bring him to the investigative body.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary investigatory and other procedural measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, objective and complete investigation of circumstances of the case, the frame of those possibly involved in murder and to personalize the actions of each of them.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
