Search declared against driver; the road accident caused 4 persons’ death

In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Syuniq Regional Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of the road accident that had caused 4 persons’ death have been found, measures are taken to find 36 year-old Alen Hovhannisyan accused of breaching the traffic rules.

Earlier it was informed that on July 23, 2015 at 12:45 an accident happened on the 168th section of Meghri-Yerevan road. As a result, 4 persons died, 3 persons sustained bodily injuries.

A criminal case was initiated in Syuniq Regional Investigative Department according to the Part 3 of the Article 242 of RA Criminal Code (Breach of traffic rules and operation of means of transportation which negligently caused human death).

Through preliminary investigation it was found that on the 168th section of Meghri-Yerevan road the 36 year-old resident of Kapan, A. Hovhannisyan went out to the opposite traffic zone then to the left roadside in “Mercedes Benz E320” and crashed into “Opel Vectra”. As a result the driver of “Opel Vectra” S. Poghosyan, the passengers A. Gasparyan, Q. Gasparyan and 4 year-old M. Aleqsanyan died at the scene, the other passengers G. Gasparyan, A. Aleqsanyan and H. Aleqsanyan were taken to the military hospital of Aghitu.

Taking the mass media interest into consideration we inform that on the base of the evidence obtained through preliminary investigation, on July 28 a decision was made to involve A. Hovhannisyan as a defendant according to the Part 3 of the Article 242 of RA Criminal Code (Breach of traffic rules and operation of means of transportation which negligently caused human death), as well as according to the Article 244 of RA Criminal Code (Abandonment of the site of road accident).

Search was declared against him, measures are taken to find him.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
