Signboards, traffic lights broken, stones, metal items thrown at junction of Mashtots-Tumanyan Streets; two participants directly involved in mass disorders arrested (video)
In the framework of the criminal case investigated in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee 2 people were arrested on suspicion of being directly involved in mass disorders that took place at the junction of Mashtots-Tumanyan Streets on the evening of April 17.
On April 17, 2018 at about 23:00 at the junction of Mashtots-Tumanyan Streets of Yerevan several dozens of participants of the meeting organized by MP Nikol Pashinyan broke the signboards, traffic lights and traffic signs located at the mentioned area, hit three service cars of the Police with metal items inflicting property damage.
A criminal case was initiated according to the Parts 1 and 2 of the Article 225 of RA Criminal Code preliminary investigation of which is conducted in the proceeding of the RA IC General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases. In addition to investigatory and other procedural actions the videos on the incident available on the internet were inspected during preliminary investigation, the people having carried out active activities, directly involved in mass disorders were identified. As a result, two people who have broken the traffic lights, traffic signs, thrown stones were arrested.
Measures are taken by relevant subdivisions of the police to find others captured in the video and bring them to the investigative body.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
